Trust The VA Mortgage Loan Specialists
We have funded over $21 billion in mortgages since 1996. We’ve got your back!
As a dedicated VA lender, iFreedom Direct® makes loans for military members. We continually top the nation’s list of financial institutions for the most VA-backed loan volume. We are approved to originate these unique loans, and we are an Automatic Lender. That means our approved loans don’t need a second opinion from the VA to get their backing. Lenders that don’t have this certification must take an extra step and get VA authorization on every loan before it can be guaranteed. Trust your home loan benefits to the VA mortgage specialists.

VA Loans With No Down Payment
One of the most attractive features is that most purchases require no down payment. Government backing secures a portion of each loan so that approved lenders don’t need extra collateral. If you’re an eligible borrower who doesn’t have a lot of cash saved up for a down payment, you may be able to buy a house. This feature makes it possible for some individuals to become homeowners even if turned down with another program.
Borrowers often can’t qualify for other loan programs because they can’t meet the down payment requirements. If within conforming loan limits, mortgages backed by the VA don’t require a down payment. This doesn’t mean VA borrowers never make down payments. Here are some cases when a down payment may help you:
- If the house you’re buying is priced higher than the loan limit in your area, then you can make a down payment to secure the amount not backed by the VA.
- If you want a lower monthly payment, a down payment can help reduce the principal amount of the loan to make your payments more affordable.

How Much Can You Save By Not Paying Monthly Mortgage Insurance Premiums?
Another great characteristic of these mortgages is that no borrower ever has to pay monthly mortgage insurance premiums (MMIP). Government backing provides security enough on these loans so that no additional private mortgage insurance is needed.
To give you an idea of the savings this can provide, consider typical MMIP on a $200,000 mortgage. This amount might be around $120 per month. That can really add up. Think of what you could do with that kind of money each month. This is enough to contribute to a retirement account or college fund. No MMIP is a great reason to choose this home financing program.

The Vet-Centric Difference
If you’ve served in the military, we’ll be thanking you for your service. That’s just part of the iFreedom Direct® difference. We hire veterans and military spouses. Our own Major Tim Lewis, 23-year U.S. Army Veteran, has created a unique in-house training program known as “Operation Vet Centric”. This mandatory course helps all employees, with or without Armed Forces experience, get a taste of the military lifestyle to better serve our special clientele.
But we don’t stop at simply understanding the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom. We make military causes part of our daily regimen. Here are some our areas of charitable focus:
- Care Packages-boxes of special treats and personal items sent monthly to troops stationed overseas
- Fisher House Foundation –preparing monthly dinners for families of Vets staying in town while loved ones receive care at the local VA Hospital
- Veterans Family Gift Shop- major supporter donating van loads of toys and clothes for Veterans’ families in need at the holidays
- Navajo Code Talkers Museum & Veterans Center – event sponsor of unique venue
- Calling Cards for Troops Overseas – free phone calls for troops overseas
You can’t get a meeting with our marketing director without having to walk around stacks and stacks of care packages for deployed troops. This is one of our favorite special projects and our employees participate willingly. Nobody is required to give, but it seems almost everyone does. A candy bar here, a tube of toothpaste there and soon you’ve got a box ready to send. With over 350 employees, you can imagine how many boxes we send a year.
