Operation iFreedom Cares
Supporting Those Who Protect Our Freedom
iFreedom Direct® is a top-ranked mortgage company specializing in VA and FHA home loans, but that’s not all we do. Our dedicated team of loan professionals is helping U.S. military members who are stationed in Afghanistan. The project is known as “Operation iFreedom Cares” and will ship 1,000 care packages to forward operating bases (FOB) by March, 2012. The large Operation iFreedom Care boxes are chock full of the most-coveted items like band aids, toothpaste, batteries, coffee, snacks, candy and other hard-to-get items.
According to an email from the commanding officer of one FOB that received three of iFreedom’s care packages, the items were received with heartfelt appreciation. The troops stationed at that particular base don’t get much outside of what family members send; some don’t receive anything at all. So, getting multiple care packages on a regular basis that are full of things they need, like the ones sent by iFreedom, makes the troops know that people really do acknowledge the troops.
Many of the company’s employees are veterans themselves, and each year the company’s employees take care to show their military gratitude. In 2010, “Operation Phone Home” enabled troops stationed in the Middle East to use calling cards, paid for through iFreedom Direct® employee payroll deductions, to stay in touch with loved ones in the States.
